Who operates Hot Seat
Hot Seat is operated by Hotseat, based in Missouri, United States. These Terms govern your use of Hot Seat together with our Community Guidelines. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Contact us at izaeiah80@gmail.com or through Settings → Contact support in the app.
Age and where you live
You must be at least 13 to use Hot Seat and meet any higher minimum age or other eligibility requirements where you live. Our minimum in Australia is 16. People under 13 must not create an account or use the service. Provide your real date of birth and country or region of residence; do not change these to bypass restrictions. If local law requires parent or guardian authorization, you may use the service only when that authorization has been obtained through a process that satisfies that law. A checkbox or these Terms alone does not establish verified parental consent. Hot Seat may limit availability or require additional eligibility checks in particular regions.
Your account and safety
Keep your account credentials secure and your account information accurate. Do not impersonate another person, evade a suspension, share access to abuse the service, or access an account without permission. Teen accounts have private profiles, private answer and like histories, and no demographic sharing. Messaging between adults and teens is restricted; teens may message other teens only when they follow each other. These controls depend on accurate account information and do not replace careful choices about whom you trust.
Your posts and messages
You keep ownership of content you create. You give Hotseat a nonexclusive, worldwide permission to host, store, reproduce, display, deliver, and technically adapt that content to provide and protect Hot Seat, consistent with your audience settings. This includes formatting, safety review, and displaying a translation when a reader requests one. This permission is limited to operating and improving the service and does not transfer ownership of your content. When you delete content, this permission ends except as needed for limited retained records described in the Privacy Policy, legal obligations, and copies already shared or saved by others. Only share content you have the rights and permission to share.
Voice messages and translation
Record only after choosing the microphone control. You can listen to or discard a draft before sending. Do not record or share another person's voice without permission required by applicable law. Voice messages can be sent only in accepted conversations, are processed for safety, and are not end-to-end encrypted. Machine translations are optional reading aids and can get wording, slang, tone, or meaning wrong. The original post remains available and the original answer choices determine the vote. Poll results and opinion or compatibility summaries reflect participation in Hot Seat; they are not verified facts, professional advice, or scientific personality assessments.
Hot Seat+ and promotions
Hot Seat+ is optional. Apple shows the price, billing period, trial terms, and renewal information before purchase. Subscriptions renew unless canceled under Apple's displayed terms. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple account settings; deleting a Hot Seat account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Refund requests follow Apple's process and applicable consumer law. Promotional or referral access is separate from a paid subscription and subject to the conditions shown in the offer. Fake accounts, self-referrals, and attempts to manipulate rewards are prohibited. Features and offers may change; changes to paid access remain subject to applicable law and the purchase terms.
Friend challenges and sharing
A friend challenge compares five dedicated answers between two eligible, connected people who both choose to participate. Challenge answers do not become community poll votes or public answer history. Both people must separately allow an aggregate result card to be exported; exporting does not include the other person’s name or individual choices. Challenges respect age, connection, blocking, messaging and content-access rules. Invitations expire after seven days, and either participant can end access to an active challenge. Screenshots or copies already saved outside Hot Seat cannot be recalled. Share only information you choose to disclose and treat comparison scores as participation summaries, not scientific personality assessments.
Moderation and your controls
Follow the Community Guidelines in posts, profiles, comments, images, and messages. We use automated tools and moderator review to help detect abuse. Content may be held, rejected, removed, or restricted, and accounts may be suspended or closed for violations, security concerns, or legal requirements. Automated systems can make mistakes. You may report content and request review of a moderation decision through Contact support → Moderation appeal. Block, mute, and hide controls remain available independently of a report. Hot Seat is not an emergency service; contact local emergency services when someone is in immediate danger.
Leaving or changes to the service
You may stop using Hot Seat, deactivate your account, or request deletion in Settings. Deactivation hides an account while retaining it for reactivation; deletion removes the account and associated active service data, subject to the limited retention described in the Privacy Policy. We may change features or interrupt service for maintenance, safety, or legal reasons. We will provide notice of material changes to these Terms through the app or another appropriate channel, and obtain agreement where required. The updated date identifies the version you are reading.
Legal rights and disputes
We work to provide a useful service, but do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free translations, or that other users' content is accurate or safe. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability, warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Missouri law governs these Terms to the extent permitted by law, without taking away mandatory protections or rights to bring a claim in your home jurisdiction. Contact us first if you want help resolving a concern; this does not prevent you from using available courts, regulators, or statutory remedies.
